Return to Federalism?
I meant to link this a few days ago. From the Wall Street Journal, a Georgetown Law School Professor's ideas on how to carry forward the limited government ideas of the Tea Party movement.
We live in a federal system where the states are supposed to be powerful and take care of all their local problems. The federal government is supposed to be limited and really handle only those issues between the states, and between the US and foreign countries. We've moved awfully far away from that in these days of stimulus packages detailing the building of dog parks, more dog parks, and retrofitting houses with doorbells.
This is an interesting read. I commend you to it.
Oh, just remember, believing in federalism might get you branded as a right wing extremist by the Department of Homeland Security.
