Possible Disruptions - Agents Provocateur
I hesitated to post anything about this as I don't want to seem paranoid. However, the internet has been buzzing about the possibility of counter-demonstrations and, worse, people from hard-core leftist organizations like ACORN showing up to Tea Parties and pretending to be like-minded. I even got a comment to my previous post alleging they will do so at this rally. The agitators will be obvious because they will have the most outrageous signs and make a spectacle of themselves specifically in order to generate negative press and make everyone else there look like crazies. We can't afford security personnel and we don't want to get in any violence, so all I can ask is to ignore these people and try to understand that they do not represent our movement.
It is a fundamental truth of American politics that despite their claims to be open-minded and all in favor of free speech, the present day American left cannot tolerate opposing points of view. "Progressives" will try to shout down, shut down, or undermine opinions that are different from their own. William F. Buckley, in 1959, I think, had this to say about liberals, and it's still true today: "Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views."
